Over her extensive career, Svetlana has practiced in real estate law, civil litigation, contract law, and even the entertainment industry, among many other fields. Svetlana is a native of Ukraine. She earned her undergraduate degree in linguistics and psychology there. She is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian and has a working knowledge of German and Polish. Upon moving to the United States, she enrolled in the New College of California School of Law, where she was awarded her Juris Doctor.

Outside of work, Svetlana enjoys exploring the vibrant San Diego community. She is a runner, swimmer, and golfer. She also trained as an actor at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and has been involved in numerous TV, radio, and theater productions.
